Scar Camouflage

Scar Camouflage Tattoo helps restore the natural appearance of skin following scarification or loss of skin pigment. Camouflage tattoos work by using advanced paramedical tattooing techniques to match the undertones in your skin, thereby lessening the contrast between the affected area and the healthy skin around it. This diminishes their prominence to the naked eye and takes attention away from your scars.

Besides pigmented Scar Camouflage Tattoos these scars, along with Stretch Marks, may benefit from Dry Tattoo sessions to address texture and color. Your artist can detail this procedure and tailor treatment to your needs, combining it with pigmented tattoos when required.

Starts at $450

  • Yes- scar camouflage tattooing is safe, but as with any procedure, there are risks, although minimal. Please discuss with your artist any potential allergies or sensitivities. Our artists have been trained to work specifically with delicate post-surgery skin, scar tissue, and take every care imaginable to avoid any additional trauma or damage to the skin.

  • All potential scar camouflage starts with an individualized consult. Scars & Stretchmarks must be at least 2 years old, must be flat in texture (keloids or hypertrophic scars are NOT candidates for scar camo), and must be lighter than the surrounding skin to produce optimal results.

  • We can not work on Keloid scars. Attempting to address their appearance with tattoos will just set back any resolution that may be developing. If your scar is raised and looks like a keloid, but hasnt been diagnosed as such, keep an eye on it. It may simply be an active hypertrophic scar that may flatten and fade in time, and if so it can then be treated. If you are in doubt, please get in touch with us and we can help determine the proper course forward.

  • Scar camouflage tattoo is a very delicate process that involves slowly implanting layers of light washes of pigment into the skin. Some scars take time and patience to properly camouflage. Therefore less is more as we build on our previous work. Multiple sessions may be required for optimal results.

After initial consult your artist will give you a price quote based on your individualized needs depending on the work required. Price quote may either be per session or per hour.

  • Since the scar camouflage technique involves matching your skin’s undertones, tanning or seasonal change of skin tone is not typically an issue.

  • Yes, it works well for all skin types and skin tones. However, individuals with darker skin tend to “pull dark” in scar tissue, so we require a series of test patches to ensure correct skin color matching. Special care will be taken for those who are prone to developing keloids or hyperpigmentation.
